A detainee at the Fulton County Detention Center died after detectives discovered that someone provided fentanyl to her inside the jail.

On July 12, Kentucky State Police Post 1 was notified by the Fulton County Detention Center that 40-year-old Charlina M. Easley, of Dresden, Tennessee,, was found unresponsive in her cell. Easley was transported to a local medical center where she died.

An investigation revealed another inmate, 42-year-old, Brandy Reynolds, of South Fulton, Tennessee, hid fentanyl on her person during intake at the jail. Reynolds is suspected of providing fentanyl to Easley, as well as several other female inmates, according to KSP.

Brandy Reynolds was charged with six counts of promoting contraband. She is being held in the Fulton County Detention Center.

An autopsy was conducted on Easley, and toxicology results are pending. The investigation remains ongoing by Detective Adam Jones.
