Wrong way I-69 crash results in critical injuries
A head-on collision last night on I-69 in Capac resulting in critical injuries to a wrong-way driver. Police were called on reports of light-colored sedan driving in the wrong direction on Westbound I-69 near the Capac Road exit began coming in just before 10 pm. A short time later, the vehicle reportedly collided with a pick-up truck hauling a recreation trailer, east of the exit. The driver of the sedan was extricated by local fire crews and airlifted to an Ann Arbor area hospital with reports of serious injuries to both legs. They were last known to be in critical condition. The truck’s driver declined on-site medical treatment. The crash forced a closure of westbound I-69 and one lane of the eastbound span during rescue, clean-up, and investigation.
Clarkston motorcyclist killed in crash
It’s been a deadly past few weeks for motorcyclists in Oakland County, with yet another killed in a crash. On Thursday evening, a 41-year-old Clarkston man died at an area hospital after he was hit by another vehicle on Telegraph Road near 12 Mile Road in Southfield while on this motorcycle, officials said.
