Montgomery, Pa. — A woman’s husband exposed her for stealing Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) funds to cover credit card debt and personal expenses. Elizabeth Jane DeSantis, 44, of Montgomery, admitted to taking the funds during an interview with state police investigators in May 2023, Trooper Josiah Reiner said. World War II monument in Mifflinburg undergoes more projects, thanks to excess in community donations
MIFFLINBURG, Pa. — The Union County World War II Honor Roll at the Mifflinburg Community Park recently underwent a restoration project. The monument lists the names of the 2,260 people from Union County who served in the war. When Newswatch 16 showed the monument last December, it was in need of repairs. After the story aired, many of you sent in donations. Bronze work for the monument was finished in May.

$5.9M in Tax Credits to Boost Affordable Housing in Philadelphia
HARRISBURG, PA — Senator Vincent Hughes has announced substantial funding for affordable housing in Philadelphia’s 7th district. Over $5.9 million in Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) will support four new rental housing projects, bringing 163 affordable units to the area. Of these, 39 units will be accessible for individuals with disabilities. The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency will manage these tax credits.
