Weapons Detection Systems Coming to Tuscaloosa County Schools & Sporting Events
A new, high-tech weapons detection system will be in use at every middle and high school in the Tuscaloosa County School System when students return to class next week. It's hard to believe summer break has come and gone, but classes begin at TCSS schools next Thursday, August 8th. When they do, students at all intermediate, middle, and high schools will find the new OpenGate Weapons Detection System in daily use at entrances.

Zone Initiative in Tuscaloosa City School System aims to help students outside of classroom
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) - Tuscaloosa City School students return next week for the new school year, but it’s not just the classroom school leaders are focused on. Last year, the school system created a program to help some students and their families outside of the classroom. It partnered with several groups to start the “Zone” Initiative which is run out of New Heights Community Resource Center.
