Former Beavers Named to MLB All-Stars; Hops Over Ems
A couple of former Oregon State Beaver Baseball players have been named to the 2024 All-Star List. Outfielder Steven Kwan plays for the Cleveland Guardians while catcher Adley Rutshcman plays for the Baltimore Orioles. Kwan played for the Beavers from 2016-18, where he batted .329 with 16 doubles, nine triples and three home runs in 156 games. He also drove in 66, scored 96 runs and swiped 22 bases. Rutschman is an All-Star for the second time, but a starter for the first time. The Baltimore Orioles’ backstop is batting .291 with 12 doubles, 15 home runs and 55 RBI. He’s also been excellent in the field, recording a .998 fielding percentage, committing one error in 475 chances. Rutschman was the 2019 Golden Spikes Award winner and played in 185 games for the Beavers over three seasons. He batted .353 with 39 doubles, five triples, 28 home runs and 174 RBI.

Emeralds Complete 7 Run Comeback with Extra Innings Victory
Hillsboro, OR — The Emeralds defeated the Hillsboro Hops by a final score of 11-10 in extra innings. It was a thrilling night all around, as the Emeralds trailed by 8-1 at one point in the game. They had a 7 run top of the 8th inning to take the lead and they were able to close it out in extra innings.
Bazzana Honored; Ems Win in Extra Innings
Another honor has been bestowed on Beaver second baseman Travis Bazzana. He has been selected as a First team all-American by the College Baseball Foundation. Bazzana is just the 6th beaver to receive the honor in Oregon State History. That adds to his list of honors which include first-teamer by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), Baseball America, D1Baseball.com, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and Perfect Game.
