Convicted felon faces multiple charges after attempting to flee Elmhurst police: prosecutors
A motion was granted Sunday to detain pre-trial an Addison convicted felon accused of possessing a semi-automatic handgun, prosecutors said. Antwaion Edwards, 27, of the 200 block of Hale Street, appeared in DuPage County First Appearance Court charged with one count each of armed habitual criminal, unlawful use/possession of a weapon by a felon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and multiple misdemeanor and petty offenses including resisting a police officer, DUI and transportation of open alcohol by a driver, according to a DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office news release.

Bond Vet, a New York City-based veterinary care provider, is aggressively expanding in the Chicago market with plans to open two new locations in August. Garage catches fire in Lombard
A detached garage caught on fire around 9:17 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of East Central Avenue, Lombard. The fire spread to an adjacent detached garage and electrical transformers. Firefighters controlled the fire in 10 minutes. Nobody was injured. Damage is estimated at $115,000. The cause is being investigated.
