PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) — Pretty good Friday night for Dunlap’s Sutton Centoni.

The sophomore drove in a run and pitched a six-inning no-hitter as Dunlap beat Brimfield, 3-0, on the first night of the Peoria Notre Dame Softball Invitational at the Louisville Slugger Complex. Centoni fanned 12 and allowed just one walk in getting the win.

All the games during the two-day invitational are on a 75-minute time limit, which is why the game ended after six innings. Centoni’s RBI single was part of a two-run rally in the fourth inning that broke a scoreless tie.

Metamora softball split a pair of games at its Margie Wright Showcase, beating Huntley but losing to Marengo.

Normal Community, Normal West, Morton, Washington, East Peoria, Notre Dame, IVC, Eureka and Roanoke-Benson were among the baseball winners on Friday.
