PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) — Sutton Centoni pitched a one-hit shutout as Dunlap beat visiting Metamora, 2-0, in a key game in the Mid-Illini Conference softball race on Thursday.

Dunlap handed Metamora it’s second loss of the conference season and prevented the Redbirds (25-6, 12-2) from clinching at least a share of the league title. Centoni struck out 11 and allowed only two baserunners in the win.

The Eagles (19-7, 9-2) host East Peoria on Friday. The Raiders (21-7, 12-1) can win the Mid-Illini title outright with a win or share the championship with Metamora if they lose.

Dunlap clinched a share of the Mid-Illini Conference baseball title with a 6-1 win at Metamora Thursday night. The Eagles (24-6, 11-3) await Saturday’s game between Pekin and East Peoria as the Raiders have a chance to earn a share of the league championship with a win.

Thursday’s East Peoria-Pekin and Washington-Morton games were postponed by wet grounds and moved to Saturday morning. Host Peoria Notre Dame beat Farmington, 4-3, in a class 2A regional baseball semifinal.

Morton and El Paso-Gridley won boys track and field sectionals Thursday. The Potters were 2A sectional champs at Galesburg while EPG captured the 1A sectional at Mackinaw.
