A Supportive Community for Synchro Swimmers
The rain cleared and the Central Park Synchro team took their skills to the water during a showcase event in late May. Current team members put on a show for the parents and coaches and the potential swimmers in the crowd. The coaches talked about the benefits of synchronized swimming, including swimmers becoming water safe because they never touch the bottom of the pool. Everyone talked about the supportive community which was evident by the applause for every swimmer in the water. The team began in 2017 and the assistant coaches are now girls that were on that original team. The synchronized swimming team is open to swimmers 6 years old and older who can tread water in the deep end of the pool. There are early morning practices during the week and three meets during the summer. The team’s annual synchro showcase is on July 17 at 6:30pm at Aviator Pool in Central Park.
