DENVER — Over the past few days you may have noticed haze in the skies over Colorado: That's due to wildfire smoke. The smoke doesn't originate in Colorado but rather is being pushed into our area by winds coming out of the north. Bodycam video shows officers rescuing dog and kitten from inside hot camper
Although the heat wave has ceased in the Denver metro area, the Wheat Ridge Police Department is telling Coloradans to bring pets inside while it is still hot outside. The police department says on July 11 around 3 p.m., officers had received calls about a dog inside a camper that was barking while it was hot outside. Officers found the dog along with a kitten inside as the temperature in the camper ranged from 91 to 103 degrees, according to Wheat Ridge PD. The dog and kitten were removed from the camper, while the owner received a summons in court for animal cruelty.

RUNNER RAISES FUNDS FOR ABUSED KIDS
Rick Wulf's pastor from Trinity United Christian Church asked, "What are you doing to serve God?" during a bible study conversation. That question inspired Rick to run 500 miles to raise money for the Tennyson Center for Children in Denver. He is trying to help raise awareness and support for children impacted by abuse and trauma. He has volunteered for the center for over 20 years, and his heart and soul go out to each and every child and staff who work to help others.
Free paint recycling event to be held in Denver
