There is a level 1 risk of severe weather until 9 pm Tuesday night, which means isolated severe storms.

If a storm turns severe, it would be due to damaging wind gusts. After 9 pm, expect less severe scattered storms -- even into the overnight hours. Otherwise, cloudy and humid.

Temperatures reached near 90 on Tuesday but with humidity, it feels like over 100 degrees.

This is a similar pattern storm as Monday which brought flash flooding to some areas, including a service road alongside 15-501 in Durham. The driver of a white truck crashed into a hole in the ground while trying to cut the corner and avoid the flooded part of the service road. ABC11 Meteorologist says the difference of Tuesday's storms will be moving through quicker.

The chance for severe storms became a reality Monday afternoon in central North Carolina.

Dangerously, the crashed truck rested on top of a natural gas line. Because of that, emergency crews had to take extra precautions when working to pull the truck out of the hole.

In Raleigh, more flash flooding trapped a car in quickly rising water. It happened at East Millbrook Road and Hoyle Drive around 4:30 p.m. Traffic in the area was detoured toward Capital Boulevard, causing major backups.

ABC11 crews on the scene said the water flooding East Millbrook Road was around 2 feet deep.

There are no reports of serious injuries from the storms.

    Looking Ahead

Expect more scattered showers and storms throughout the week.

It looks like there will be similar temperatures on Wednesday nearing 90. Temperatures will drop back into the low to mid-80s, with a slightly high risk of heavy rain on Thursday.

There is a break in the soggy pattern by the weekend with temperatures in the mid to high 80s.
