Hall tabs All-American Joey Lavallee as assistant coach
OREM, Utah – Utah Valley head coach Adam Hall has announced the hiring of Joey Lavallee. The 2017 All-American will bring a lot of experience as a four-time NCAA qualifier. "I am so excited to welcome Joey and his wife, Ciena, to UVU Wrestling! Joey brings a wealth of knowledge of the sport and experience as an athlete at both the collegiate and senior levels," said UVU head coach Adam Hall. "I look forward to mentoring him in his journey as an emerging young coach and supporting him in his competitive career as an RTC athlete. Working closely with Athletes in Action, Joey will serve as a strong mentor for our guys. I know he is eager to get to work and will make an immediate impact."
Logan/Cache Airport receives scathing audit detailing financial and governing problems
The Logan/Cache Airport received a scathing review as part of an external audit on the airport’s operations, financials and governance this past week. The audit was commissioned from the Cache County Airport Authority Board and took place between December 2023 and March 2024. Dr. Michael Jones conducted the audit as part of Swelbar-Zhong Consultancy, an aeronautical company analysis firm.

I’m not sure how many I’ll get done each week, but the only way for me to really know about these teams is to actually do the research so I can be relatively informed when the season hits. Swimming pool at Vernal hotel still closed after acid leak
VERNAL, Utah — The indoor swimming pool at Vernal Comfort Inn remained closed on Monday after a dozen swimmers got sick and went to a hospital on Saturday. The swimmers were dealing with vomiting and respiratory issues according to the Tri-County Health Department. Those who were hospitalized Saturday were discharged the same day.

Salt Lake City — Stack Homes, a Salt Lake City based modular builder, now introduces Polaris Modular. The new name reflects the company’s evolution from direct-to-consumer home sales to servicing developer’s residential and commercial projects. While the manufacturing division previously known as Stack Modular Development takes on the name Polaris Modular, the Stack Homes product line remains within Polaris Modular’s portfolio of designs.
Heber City Smith’s Marketplace opens Saturday
Smith’s Food & Drug will open a new Smith’s Marketplace store at 744 North Main Street in Heber City on Saturday, July 20, at 8 a.m. The 123,000 square foot multi-department store will offer a full line of grocery products along with apparel, household goods, outdoor garden center and sporting equipment. The new store features a floral department, drive-through pharmacy, made-from-scratch donuts, online grocery pick up and a Starbucks with indoor seating for 50 people and a seasonal outdoor patio for 25 guests. A mural of the Heber Valley, created by local artist John Moore, will greet customers as they enter the store.
