Be a Little Bit Naughty at Lehi Art’s MATILDA
LEHI — Growing up, the books of Roald Dahl and the imagination behind them were very important in my household. Making a drive to Lehi to see Matilda the Musical at the Lehi Arts Council in Friday traffic may seem a bit crazy for a Northern Utahn, but since this is the year anniversary of my mother’s death and I have vivid memories of her reading the book to me, I take any opportunity I can to see the musical with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin and a book by Dennis Kelly. The story follows young, brilliant Matilda, played the night I saw the show by Alicia Wright, as she struggles with the trauma of parents who do not love her, a principal who mistreats her, and powers that she cannot understand.

Utah officials are set hear testimony Monday about whether a man facing execution next month should be spared the death penalty for a 1998 murder and remain imprisoned for life. The group alleges...
Utah's Straw Test Crackdown
Utah is known for many things—beautiful mountains, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mitt Romney—but it truly distinguishes itself when it comes to notoriously ridiculous alcohol laws. While the state's so-called "Zion Curtain" has widely been considered one of the dumbest booze rules in America, it turns out there is no limit on inane drinks laws in the Beehive State. In fact, state regulators have recently upped their bureaucratic ante by cracking down on bartenders who use a "straw test" to sample cocktails before serving.
Utah Hikers Confused by Missing Lake
Usually, when you set out on a trail called Twin Lakes Trail, you expect a pair of lakes. However, some hikers in Utah didn’t find a pair of lakes at the end of their trail; they found a drained reservoir instead. Though confusing and disappointing for hikers who didn’t know what was going on, there’s a perfectly reasonable explanation for the missing Utah lake.

The Salary That A Family In Utah Needs For Basic Survival
Inflation is totally out of control. Have you seen the interest rates? Every time I drive passed one of the those mortgage rate billboards along the freeway, I shudder. It hasn't been below 6% in a long time. The amount we spend on groceries in 2024 is almost triple the amount from 2022 and it is not getting better.
