PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. (WSAV) – Agents from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) are investigating an officer involved shooting in Pickens County on Saturday.

According to authorities, the Easley Police Department (EPS) received 911 calls for a domestic dispute and when officers responded to the residence a male subject refused to come outside.

SLED says officers encountered the armed male subject, and during the encounter, officers shot the man, who was later identified as 35-year-old Daniel McGoldrick.

Authorities say McGoldrick was pronounced dead at the scene and no law enforcement officers were injured.

SLED was requested to investigate by the EPD.

The incident in Pickens County was the 25th officer involved shooting in South Carolina this year, and the 3rd officer involved shooting for the EPD this year.
