Charleston man sentenced to five years in prison on federal drug charges, prosecutors say
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — A Charleston man has been sentenced on Thursday to five years in prison on federal drug charges, prosecutors said. Willie Charles Sanders, also known as “Disco”, 51, was sentenced Thursday on distribution of methamphetamine charges after admitting to selling 28 grams of meth to an informant on Aug. 23, 2022, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern District of West Virginia.
Jackson County man convicted in drug case
CHARLESTON — A Jackson County man was convicted this week of conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine following a two-day trial. According to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of West Virginia, evidence at the trial proved that Mark Leslie Lively, 57, of Kenna, participated in a drug-trafficking organization that operated in the Charleston area from about November 2022 to in or about March 2023. Members of the conspiracy commonly obtained their controlled substances on consignment, paying their suppliers with proceeds from distributing them to customers.
