Former Secret Service Agent Says Security Saturday Will Be “Unprecedented”
(Grand Rapids, MI) – Former Secret Service Agent Jason Russell says people who attend former President Trump’s rally Saturday at Van Andel Arena can expect “unprecedented” security. Russell is the founder and president of Secure Environment Consultants in Grand Rapids and says being inside an arena will make the job a little easier for law enforcement than an outdoor rally and he expects all the candidates to hold inside events for at least next several weeks. He says what happened last Saturday to Trump in Pennsylvania is an anomaly and shouldn’t have people on edge about attending.

Kent County Sheriff's Office continues search for missing girl

Police say 17-year-old Penelope Wise, also known as Penny, voluntarily left her Cedar Springs home on foot at 6 p.m. on May 31st. It is believed she traveled from Cedar Springs to Rockford, as surveillance video from Rockford Park Drive near Northland Drive shows Penny walking along the road.

Grand Rapids Man Dies in Lake Michigan Near Pigeon Lake Pier Despite Rescue Attempts
A tragic incident unfolded on the waters of Lake Michigan yesterday afternoon, resulting in the drowning of a 38-year-old man from Grand Rapids. The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office reported, as per WZZM 13 that at approximately 3:40 p.m., they responded to a drowning incident south of Pigeon Lake Pier. Swimming about 100 yards out, the man ultimately went underwater and failed to resurface on his own.

IONIA COUNTY, MI – Rescuers are searching for a man who went missing Sunday, July 14, while kayaking in Sessions Lake in the Ionia County Recreation Area. The man is a Grand Rapids resident in his mid-30s, Ionia County sheriff’s deputies said. His name has not been released.

Grand Haven man pleads to stealing, selling mPerks login info
KENT COUNTY — A local man has pled guilty to conducting a criminal enterprise by stealing and selling login information for Meijer mPerks accounts, according to a report from WOOD TV-8. Nicholas Mui, of Grand Haven, pled guilty Monday, July 15, in Kent County's 17th Circuit Court before Judge Mark Trusock. Mui faces up to 20 years in prison. He's scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 5.
