The next generation of college football and NFL stars will be filled with familiar surnames. Noah Sanders, the youngest son of Detroit Lions great and arguably the best rusher ever, Barry Sanders, is now eyeing collegiate scholarship offers. His first Big Ten offer came recently.

Michigan State Offers Noah Sanders Scholarship

Already with offers from Toledo, Bowling Green, and several other lower-level programs, Noah Sanders recently grabbed a grey shirt opportunity with the Michigan State Spartans. The 3-star recruit from Birmingham, Michigan has built a solid resume thus far.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound running back and receiver ranks 60th in the state of Michigan from 247Sports . He finished the 2023-24 season with 401 rushing yards and eight total touchdowns. He added 51 receiving yards on five receptions.

The offer to start in the gray shirt would delay Noah's class start until the winter semester, giving him the chance to maintain four years of eligibility within a span of five years.

There are compelling reasons for him to consider joining the Spartans; his older brother Nick plays basketball for MSU, and his father, Barry, has recently been closely associated with the program.

Is Noah Sanders Related to Barry Sanders?

Yes, and he's the youngest of four sons Barry Sanders has. Barry J. Sanders played at Stanford and Oklahoma State and was moderately successful. Nigel Sanders never played collegiate sports.

Noah's brother, Nicholas, is a 5-foot-10 point guard at Michigan State. Thus, Noah is the last chance for the Sanders family to see another down in the NFL at this point.

Noah is keeping his options open for now. "There are a few other schools have reached out to me, the most notable one being Pittsburgh, who I was thrilled to hear from," Noah told 247Sports . "I don’t have any visits planned out yet, but I definitely am expecting to go to multiple visits this year."
