Aidan Chiles is a shining light in what appears to be a dark moment for Michigan State football's program heading into the 2024-2025 season.
The Spartans finished 2-7 in the Big Ten last season, 4-8 overall after former coach Mel Tucker was suspended and fired after allegations of sexual misconduct last September.
Chiles, a former four-star recruit out of Downey, California, followed new head coach Jonathan Smith to East Lansing, Michigan and recently made a huge boast that will catch the attention of Big Ten fans everywhere.
"I think I'm the best quarterback in the Big Ten and the nation," Chiles said this past week.
Last season, Chiles completed 24 of 35 passes for 309 yards and four touchdowns. He ran 17 times for 79 yards and three touchdowns, helping to lead the Beavers to an 8-5 record, 5-4 in the Pac-12.

Chiles did not play in the Beavers' 40-8 bowl game loss at the hands of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
The 6-foot-3, 217 pound dual threat signal caller has a lot to prove entering this season, as do his Spartans teammates.
"Everybody has it (the mentality that they are the best), though," Chiles said.
"So, my job is to prove it. But it comes with the work, and also, just the team in general.
"Like, the team's got to help me out, I got to help them out. So, really, my improvement is based on the team."
