INTERVIEW: Sarah King on Picking Up The Pieces From Her Cancer Diagnosis
Just when Sarah King though she was at the point she needed to be, well, it all went down. King release her album When it All Goes Down on March 29. Three days later, her doctor confirmed the worst: she had thyroid cancer, with tumors on her lymph nodes and one on the thyroid itself. All of King’s plans for the album came to a screeching halt. The prognosis is good, and King will be giving her final performance before her surgery and recovery at the Grand Point North Festival in Burlington, VT this Saturday the 27th. King spoke with us about how she’s hanging in there, what she’s going to do with her time off, and the considerations we should all take for artists with chronic illness and disabilities.

SPRINGFIELD, Vt. (WCAX) - This week’s Pets with Potential are a kitty, a bunch of puppies, and a gecko available for adoption at the Springfield Humane Society. Alfonso is a five-year-old male kitty who has made quite a remarkable recovery since arriving at the shelter. He came in very sick with calcivirus -- which caused a sore on his tongue -- making it too painful for him to eat. But after plenty of TLC, he’s now a healthy boy ready for his forever home. Staff say he’s people-friendly and gets along with other cats.

Vermont Earns Second Straight America East Academic Cup and Record Tenth Overall
BOSTON – The America East Conference announced Friday morning that the University of Vermont's student-athletes secured the athletic department's record 10th Walter Harrison Academic Cup. The Walter Harrison Academic Cup is presented each season by the conference to the institution with the best cumulative GPA among its student-athletes competing in league sports. Vermont earned the 2023-24 honor with a cumulative GPA of 3.50.
