    Fire on Greenwood Avenue Displaces 18 East Orange Residents

    East Orange, NJ- East Orange firefighters responded to a fire at a three-family home at 135 Greenwood Avenue at approximately 5:23am on Saturday, June 29th.

    With mutual assistance from Bloomfield Fire Department, EOFD put the fire under control at 5:54am.

    Three families, comprised of 18 people, were able to escape the fire with no injuries. The home is currently uninhabitable and the American Red Cross is assisting the displaced families with temporary shelter.

    Firefighters from Orange and Irvington were also dispatched to East Orange as mutual aid.

    The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
