The following information is courtesy of the East Ridge Police Department. 24-008234- 1000 BLK Bass Pro Drive- Shoplifting/Criminal Trespass Warning- Officers were given a description of a male wearing gray cargo shorts, a gray cap, and a gray shirt concealing several items in his shorts. Officers contacted the suspect and escorted him out of the business. He was detained and all the merchandise was recovered. The suspect was issued a misdemeanor citation and trespassed from the business.

People can face harsher penalties for assaulting law enforcement officers after new law goes into effect in TN
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A new law passed by the legislature makes it a Class E felony to assault law enforcement officers. People convicted of assaulting law enforcement officers would be required to pay $10,000 and face a minimum sentence of 60 days in prison. It's named the "Back the Blue Act."
