New York Giants embattled quarterback set for comeback season?

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has faced plenty of adversity throughout his tenure in East Rutherford.

The former No. 6 overall pick now enters a crucial season coming off a torn ACL while needing to provide the organization with the confidence to move forward with him under center.

As Jones enters this make-or-break season, Nick Faria of Pro Football Network listed the Giants quarterback as the team's bounce-back candidate in 2024.

"New York may have one foot out the door with Jones, but his recovery from ACL surgery could be the deciding point between him staying as a starting quarterback or being a journeyman set to enter his final season with the Giants," Faria wrote.

If Jones wants any shot at retaining the starting job beyond the 2024 season, he will need to find that efficiency he had in 2022 when he helped lead the Giants to the divisional round of the playoffs.

Some of that comes with getting more help around him. The offensive line crumbled last season, and Jones' decision-making went with it. The Giants also needed to add more dynamic play-makers around their starting quarterback.

The offensive line isn't fixed in the least, but they did add some veteran options to the starting unit. A jump forward from second-year center John Michael Schmitz could make a huge difference.

Then, the addition of Malik Nabers gives Jones the type of alpha wide receiver the organization hasn't had since the Odell Beckham Jr. days.

There certainly will be a lot riding on this season for Jones and the Giants. Whether he can do enough to ensure his future with the team is another question entirely.
