Undercover sting shuts down motel drug operation

EAST STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Two people are wanted after police say an undercover investigation resulted in a motel drug operation being shut down.

According to the Stroud Area Regional Police Department, between May and June of 2023, Monroe County detectives along with the FBI executed multiple controlled drug buys from Sean Johnson and Cathi Jones at the Super 8 Motel on Greentree Drive in East Stroudsburg.

Police say, during the operation, various quantities of fentanyl were bought from Johnson and Jones.

A search warrant was served on the motel room and as a result quantities of various drugs, paraphernalia, cell phones, and guns were seized. After searching the phones, evidence showed that purchasing and selling illegal drugs was done at the motel.

Arrest warrants have been issued for Johnson and Jones. Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to submit a tip to the Stroud Area Regional Police website .
