Derrow column on public schools missed the mark by using rich district for finance base
I started reading Philip Derrow’s guest column regarding public school problems (June 30) and thought, “this guy gets it.” He wrote “Teachers and staff more than have their hands full just doing that [conveying basic knowledge of literacy, math, natural sciences, history, civics, and the arts].” Then he stopped short and fell off a cliff.
Triway 12U baseball team completes undefeated season
Capping a 16-0 spring, Triway's Bremenour 12U baseball team won the battle for gold in the Gold Game against Chippewa's 12U Funk Team. "Teaching our players leadership, mental toughness and fundamentals are always the priorities, " said coach Guy Bremenour. "Without the kids buying into these priorities and them learning and excelling in them, we would not have been able to go 16-0.
