As Cleveland advances bike plans, some cyclists say the city is spinning its wheels
On a warm, rainy morning in Cleveland, Rocky Encalada could be heard sharing a story on top of the Detroit-Superior Bridge. It was Bike to Work Day, an annual event that encourages bicycle commuting. Locally, the event is organized by nonprofit Bike Cleveland. The organization's staffers handed out coffee and breakfast treats to cyclists commuting into Downtown Cleveland.
Bridgeforth Named to Lake Erie League 2nd Team
Danny Bridgeforth was another one of Coach Incarnato’s Bearcats to receive post-season league honors. The junior (now senior) was name to the L.E.L.’s 2nd team for his efforts this year. His batted .296 while leading the team in doubles (4), and he was also second on the team in RBI’s (7). He also spent some time on the mound pitching this season where he managed to strike out 15 batters. As if that wasn’t enough, he maintained a fielding percentage of .955 while only committing 1 error all season. Impressive stats for guy who also plays quarterback for the football team in the fall and swims/dives during the winter. Cleveland State has a new women's head basketball coach. The Cougars hired Ayana McWilliams to take over the team this season. "I am truly excited about being here at Cleveland State Community College and in the Cleveland, Tennessee community," said McWilliams. "The opportunity to serve and impact change in multiple capacities, being back in the region of the country where I have deeply rooted connections, as well as being closer to family and friends made this opportunity a big draw."
