A Northampton County man has been indicted on charges alleging he distributed child pornography this year.

The U.S. attorney’s office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania said in a news release Wednesday that Wei Fu, 38, of Easton distributed child pornography Jan. 8 and 9.

The Pennsylvania attorney general’s office and Department of Homeland Security investigated the case.

The AG’s office charged Fu locally in Northampton County in March. He remains charged with 50 counts each of possessing child pornography and disseminating photos of child sex acts.

His indictment alleges that he was in Lackawanna County when he distributed the photos.

If convicted, Fu faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. He is being held in Lackawanna County Prison, according to court records.
