Man stole air conditioners at Lehigh Valley animal hospital, police say

Police have charged an Easton man with stealing air conditioners from a Northampton County veterinarian facility.

Kyle A. Kleintop, 36, was charged with multiple offenses, including felony theft, state police said in a news release.

Police said troopers were dispatched Monda y to HanoverView Animal Hospital on Beth Bath Pike in East Allen Township after officials reported two exterior commercial air conditioner units had been stolen sometime Sunday night or early Monday.

The units were broken into several pieces and loaded into a vehicle, police said.

Upon investigation, officers were able to place Kleintop at the veterinary facility and arrested him Tuesday, according to the news release.

Besides two counts of theft, Kleintop was arraigned by District Judge Alicia Rose Zito of Bangor on receiving stolen property and criminal mischief, all felonies, and several lesser offenses. He was sent to Northampton County Jail under $25,000 bail.

Hospital staff posted on social media that they were able to replace the cooling units.
