According to a release from the U.S. Department of Justice, Bacarre H. Curtis, 23, of Eastpointe, MI was sentenced Tuesday after it was found that he had been transporting meth from Eastpointe to Harrison County to sell.

Man charged after 2 separate incidents in which deputies located meth during Upshur County traffic stops

Court documents say that Curtis—also known as TJ—sold the meth “with a network of others.” A search of his vehicle yielded meth as well as a firearm, and a subsequent investigation connected 1.2 kilograms of meth to him.

Curtis was initially charged in 2022 alongside Darius Robertson, also from Michigan, after undercover operatives with the Greater Harrison Drug Task Force performed a controlled buy from him.

Curtis was sentenced to 120 months in federal prison and will serve five years of supervised release after his sentence is complete.

The Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the Greater Harrison Drug Task Force and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office investigated this incident. Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew Cogar prosecuted the case on behalf of the U.S. Government.
