Soak up the sun, explore the wonder, absorb the culture and feast on the finest foods in Orlando this fall! In O-Town, there's so much more than just attractions for kids or those who want to be a kid again. This sunny sanctuary has been regarded as a vacation destination dedicated to family or just the little ones, and that remains valid. Still, for any traveler with even just a bit more "seasoning" to their age, the charm of Orlando also rests in the vast assortment of its fun activities, culture and diverse dining for visitors of all ages. Be it by plane, train or automobile, get packed up and prepare to visit Orlando with YOU in mind this fall.

SOAK UP: LUMINARY GREEN PARK IN THE HISTORIC PARRAMORE DISTRICT

More than just a vast luscious space of gorgeousness conveniently nestled in the heart of downtown Orlando, Luminary Green Park is the center of this historic community. “In the early 1900s this was the only place Black people could live,” Terry Prather of Visit Orlando shares. Walk with your dogs, have a picnic and appreciate the "Luminaries" who have uplifted this community. This park serves as a space to celebrate prominent Black leaders in the Orlando area. Enjoy a scrumptious meal at the Monroe across from the park and stick around to see the Orlando sign come to life with an exciting music-driven light show after dusk.

In this “fast casual” restaurant and grille, the term “the customer is always right” holds true. Connect with Chef Vern Thomas’ ethnic island culture with a unique approach to each menu item, demonstrating the love for his homeland that will be pleasing to your palate. Newcomers will be satisfied starting with one of the most requested items on the menu, the tender and flavorful Braised Ox Tail. You’re in for a treat!

ABSORB: ZORA NEALE HURSTON NATIONAL MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS

The Zora Neale Hurston Museum is a rich art and Black history experience that ranks high on the list of favorites for those looking to connect with their heritage while visiting the Orlando area. Nestled proudly in the culturally abundant town of Eatonville, this community is the childhood home of author Zora Neale Hurston and is one of the oldest African-American communities in the U.S. This treasure sits just north of Winter Park and downtown Orlando, defining its convenience to visitors of the area. Equipped with art that spans periods, this museum has offered dozens of exhibits since its opening in 1990. Angie Gardener, Mayor of Eatonville, marvels, “ It’s telling a story today, a story of perseverance and business. It's also telling a story of faith and hope. The town that freedom built, we are here today.”  With the work of artists of African ancestry boldly on display, observe the work of deeply creative individuals from an array of backgrounds worldwide. “We thoroughly enjoyed our time in and around Orlando. We had fun, the food was good, and we learned a lot. It’s truly a place you can enjoy with friends, as a couple or with kids,” according to travel influencers LJ & MJ .
