GERMANTOWN, Wis. - A 41-mile pursuit that stretched from Fond du Lac County into Germantown ended with two people in custody on Friday night, July 5. According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office, the driver was a 32-year-old man with a lengthy criminal history. The passenger, also a convicted felon, had a nationwide warrant out for his arrest.

7-6-24 fdl man in custody following high speed chase
A Fond du Lac man is in custody following a high speed chase that ended in Washington County. The chase started shortly before 10:30 pm Friday when a sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a vehicle that ran a stop sign on Highway B near Interstate 41. The vehicle fled south at a high rate of speed and eventually crashed in a ditch near Slinger. A passenger tried to flee on foot but was apprehended by a state patrol trooper. The driver, a 32 year old Fond du Lac man, was arrested at gun point. The passenger received injuries running through thick vegetation and was transported to the hospital for treatment. He had a nationwide felony arrest warrant. Some bystander vehicles struck tire deflation devices during the 41 mile long chase and received flat tires.
7/6/24 FDL County High Speed Pursuit
The pursuit of a 32-year-old Fond du Lac man who sped through a stop sign on Fond du Lac County Highway B Friday night took a Sheriff’s deputy into Washington County. A maneuver was used on Interstate 41 near Slinger to try and stop the suspect’s vehicle, but he was able to regain control and get back onto the highway. He continued heading south. Washington County Sheriff’s deputies and Germantown Police then successfully deployed tire deflation devices. In trying to avoid them the driver tried to exit the highway on County Line Road and lost control driving into a ditch where the vehicle became disabled. A passenger ran from the vehicle but was taken into custody by a State Trooper. The Fond du Lac man who was driving the vehicle is facing felony charges and the passenger, a convicted felon, was wanted on a nationwide warrant by Probation and Parole. He is also charged with resisting or obstructing. The pursuit lasted approximately 41 miles.

WALDO, Wis. (WBAY) - Officials are investigating how a fire inside an attached garage started late Friday night. In a news release from the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, around 11:30 p.m., the Sheboygan County Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a structure fire on the 700 block of Pheasant Run, Waldo, Town of Lyndon.
