Woman killed, juvenile injured after being hit by car in Phelps County
ST JAMES, Mo. — A pedestrian was killed and another was hospitalized after being struck while crossing the highway in St. James. According to a post from the St. James Police Department, a 31-year-old woman and a juvenile were crossing the roadway at about 9 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of North Jefferson Street and State Highway B, located just off of Interstate 44. Police did not share the exact age of the juvenile.

SECOND UPDATE: Court documents now say Tyron Spence-Bey pleaded guilty to first-degree involuntary manslaughter and unlawful possession of a firearm by a dangerous felon. Spence-Bey was sentenced to ten years on the manslaughter charge and three years on the possession charge. The sentences will run back-to-back for a total of 13 years.
