BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. — The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office is responding to a fatal crash Thursday afternoon that resulted in a Good Samaritan being struck and killed.

According to the BCSO, officers were called to the intersection of N US31 and W 800 N. There, they found a man with significant injuries on-scene, who had attempted to help a stranded truck driver that was heading southbound on US 31 in Edinburgh. That man was then hit by an oncoming vehicle near the Edinburgh Outlet Mall and has since been pronounced deceased.
