KOPC Workforce Development trainees put lessons to practice with John Henry Park facelift
BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - Biloxi’s John Henry Park is getting some new upgrades thanks to students in a workforce training program. Cari Lee joined the Knights of Peter Claver training program to get some much-needed skills to help her find a job. Court proceedings delay reopening of behavioral health unit in Jackson
JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - The St. Dominic Behavioral Health unit closed in June 2023. And despite plans for it to reopen with different ownership, a lawsuit is delaying that. Texas-based Oceans Behavioral Health had applied to lease the unit as a separately licensed psychiatric hospital. According to filed documents, Ocean’s plan is to offer acute adult psychiatric services using the existing 77 inpatient beds formerly offered by St. Dominic.

Supreme Court denies motion for relief for man who killed 81-year-old Clinton woman

One pedestrian dead, one injured in crash on Rainey Road in Jackson
Friday morning at around 12:30 am, JPD responded to 3435 Rainey Road regarding two pedestrians who had been struck by a vehicle. The victims of the accident were two 15-year-old female juveniles. One of the victims died from her injuries, the second victim was transported by AMR to the hospital for treatment.
