Man and woman found dead in Rosemead
A man and a woman were found dead in Rosemead Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The victims were found dead around 12:20 p.m. Wednesday in the 7600 block of Steddom Drive, according to LASD. Deputies were initially investigating the incident as a shooting but the cause of death is unknown at this time. No arrests have been made in the case. Anyone with information regarding the incident was urged to contact the LASD Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. Public rallies for family of child with autism who was slapped by grown man
Residents of Pacoima rallied together to support the family of a young boy with autism after he was slapped in the face by a grown man in a disturbing on-camera assault. Alfredo Morales and his family were crossing the street in Pacoima on Monday near the intersection of Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Osborne Street when the child touched the logo of a Mercedes Benz that was stopped while waiting for the traffic light to change. 5 juveniles in custody after chase involving stolen car ends in Hawthorne, authorities say
Five juveniles led authorities on a high-speed chase through the South Bay on Thursday afternoon before abandoning a car in the middle of a street in Hawthorne and fleeing on foot into an apartment building.The chase made it way across surface streets and the 110 Freeway before the driver exited into a residential neighborhood and ditched the vehicle.Shortly before 1 p.m., the driver and passengers jumped out the Kia Soul and near the intersection of 129th Street and Jefferson Avenue and ran.Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies followed them onto the property and set up a perimeter as a law enforcement helicopter circled overhead.A search ensued, and by 3 p.m. all five of the suspects were apprehended, a sheriff's spokesperson told ABC7.Details of when and where the car was stolen were not immediately available.
2 LAPD officers injured after being shot at during traffic stop; suspect at large
Two Los Angeles police officers were shot at while conducting a traffic stop in the southeast L.A. area, and the suspect remained at large Thursday.The incident happened around 9 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Broadway and Rosecrans Avenue, according to the L.A. Police Department.The officers initiated a traffic stop on a white Chevy sedan, and as the car came to a stop, the suspect "immediately shot at the officers," prompting them to return fire, authorities said.It's unclear if the suspect was struck, but both officers sustained injuries. One of them suffered a bullet graze wound to the head and the other was injured by shattered glass.The officers followed the suspect who fled the scene but they eventually lost sight of the car. AIR7 was over the scene and captured several police vehicles in the area as crime-scene tape cordoned off a large portion of the street.The white Chevy was last seen traveling north on Broadway from 135th Street.The injured officers were taken to the hospital in stable condition.
