EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Liga MX play began on Friday, with FC Juárez set to take on Atlas FC at Estadio Olímpico Benito Juárez.

Both clubs remain both winless and undefeated at the close of match week one – ending the first competition of the season with a draw, 2-2.

The game started off with two yellow cards distributed to Atlas in the first 30 minutes of play setting the tone of a chippie match.

Bravos maintained possession for much of the first half which resulted in a goal by Ángel Zaldívar in the 37th minute to take the lead.

To open up the second half Atlas buries one into the back of the net by Eduardo Aguirre to knot things up at ones.

Juárez will regain the lead in the 72nd on the penalty kick by Avilés Hurtado, followed by another equalizer by Luis Reyes for Atlas with just under ten to play in regular time.

Both clubs will split the three points at the close of week one.
