EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Locomotive FC continue to have a less than ideal season this year, struggling throughout the course of a match but particularly in the second half.

Many times entering the last 45 minutes of play either ahead or tied, the club seems to let the match slip in the final minutes ensuing a loss.

Head coach Wilmer Cabrera attributes the clubs down fall in those moments to a ‘lack of concentration.’

The question is – how does one train focus? It’s not a physical issue, but mental. The club says keeping the love of the game alive and through repetition, hopefully the results will come out on the pitch.

“We need to come out here and be positive, to work, to do repetitions and try to instill the positive mental aspect within the group,” said Cabrera. “That’s the most important thing right now. Now, what we need to do is hope that is translates into the game.”

“Honestly, what we have to do is reps every day and training,” said defender Miles Lyons. “Getting as many reps as possible so that way it’s just second nature. That’s how you change it. And it’s it’s all about pride, too. I know all the boys have pride- we all want to win. We’re all working hard to to represent the city as best as possible.”

Locomotive take to the road to face Phoenix in its next match, a team El Paso came to a draw with earlier this season. The last time the Locos faced the Rising away suffered a tremendous five-nil loss.
