EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — Hospice El Paso has opened its new Center for Compassionate Care facility on Thursday, July 18.

The new center, located at Grace Pointe Wellness Center at 2301 N. Oregon St., provides 24-hour short-term specialized hospice care and creates a care-centered environment, according to the news release by Hospice El Paso.

“We are excited to unveil the reopening of the Center for Compassionate Care to our El Paso community,” said Dr. James Voiland, chief executive officer for Hospice El Paso.

The center is to help provide comprehensive care, including pain and anxiety management, as well as any other symptoms that cannot be controlled in other settings, Hospice El Paso said.

Center for Compassionate Care also offers a specialized pediatric unit to address the needs of terminally ill children, so that the young patients receive the appropriate medical attention and emotional support in a child-friendly environment, Hospice El Paso said.

“This center represents our commitment to providing specialized in-patient care for the most critical hospice patients,” said Vanessa Rodriguez, chief business development officer for Hospice El Paso.
