    1 person dead in shooting in far East El Paso

    EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — One person is dead after a shooting in far East El Paso early Saturday morning, July 20, the El Paso Police said.

    Just before 4 a.m., police responded to a call of multiple gunshots that were heard in the area of 4101 Rich Beem Blvd. at the Gonzalez Place Apartments, they said.

    When officers arrived, they found one person had been fatally wounded in the parking lot, they said.

    Crimes Against Persons and the Criminalists units both responded to assist in the investigation.

    Police say this is an active investigation that is in its early stages.

    The community at large is not in any danger from this incident, police added.

    Anyone with information on this shooting should call El Paso Police at (915) 832-4400 or Crime Stoppers of El Paso at (915) 566-8477 (TIPS) to remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
