Nebraska Football Countdown to Kickoff: No. 16 Elijah Jeudy
Only 16 days remain until the beginning of Nebraska’s 2024 season and in the player spotlight with just over two weeks remaining is junior defensive lineman Elijah Jeudy. The 6-foot-3, 285-pound junior defensive lineman is in his second year with the program after playing in 11 games as part of the Blackshirt defense in 2023 as he recorded eight tackles including one tackle for loss while also blocking one field goal while a member of the Huskers’ special team unit. This fall, Jeudy will once again be a rotational defensive lineman for the Huskers but could see a bit of a bigger role than what he saw in 2023. Jeudy and the Huskers will continue to prepare for the Huskers season opener on August 31 against the UTEP Miners on August 31. More typical August weather for the mid-point of the month
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The day is starting with some showers over Southwest Nebraska and Northwest Kansas. These are pushing eastward toward South Central Nebraska and North Central Kansas. Most of the rain that we see will occur near or south of Interstate 80 with chances much lower as you go to the north. Later this morning and into this afternoon, there may be a few stronger storms, but severe weather will likely be isolated in southern areas. Very isolated large hail and severe wind gusts are possible. For most of the area, high temperatures will reach the mid to upper 80s to near 90°. I wouldn’t rule out some cooler temperatures in the south where rain could stick around. Most of that rain will clear out to the southeast late this afternoon or early this evening. Much of the area will see mostly clear skies tonight. There is a low-end chance of a rogue thunderstorms overnight into early tomorrow with the best chance over northern areas. Lows will dip back to the upper 50s and low to mid 60s.
