City of Taylor moves to Stage 3 water restrictions
TAYLOR, Texas — The city of Taylor has moved into Stage 3 water restrictions after the Brazos River Authority announced some of its pumps went down at Lake Granger. The Brazos River Authority supplies water to about 60,000 customers in Central Texas, including the city of Taylor, the Jonah Special Water Utility District and Lonestar Regional Water Authority.
Second mosquito trap in Taylor tests positive for West Nile virus
A second mosquito trap in Taylor has tested positive for West Nile virus, city officials announced Tuesday. This marks the second positive sample in the city this year. The Williamson County Cities and Health District (WCCHD) notified Taylor officials that a mosquito trap sample collected near East Third Street and Washburn on July 9 tested positive for the virus. This follows the first positive sample of the year, which was collected on July 2 near North Drive and T.H. Johnson.
