Native Plantings - June Yard of the Month Selected
Now that June is passed, lawns and gardens are flourishing. The city’s Natural Resources Advisory Committee selected its Yard of the Month based on native landscaping. The June honoree is that of Constance Adams, 1307 Hillcrest Court. In her Native Planting Landscape Plan for 2024 Adams lists more than 20 plant species among her five native gardens. Her objective is to provide habitat for Monarch Butterflies. “One day in 2022 I counted 70 Monarch’s at a time,” said Adams. Last year that was down significantly, underscoring the importance of providing habitat. She started planting native species in 2010 and has added to it annually.
Fergus Falls Youth Wrestler Claims Runner-Up Spot in National Tournament
Eleven-year old Clayten White, who will be a sixth-grader at Kennedy Secondary School in Fergus Falls this fall and wrestles for the Fergus Falls Youth Wrestling Club, finished as runner-up in the 12U 58 pound weight class in the USA Wrestling Kids National Tournament in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The event was held June 28 through June 30 and featured wrestlers from all 50 states with multiple wrestlers from Minnesota, Colorado. Pennsylvania, Arizona, Utah and Georgia.

ST. CLOUD, Minn. — The limit on water usage in and around the St. Cloud area is now lifted. On Tuesday, July 2, the City of St. Cloud announced that the critical repairs on the Metro Forcemain Sewer System were done; therefore, lifting the request for residents to limit their water usage.

Thrilling Thursday At Glendalough State Park
Glendalough State Park will host a holiday “Thrilling Thursday” -, July 4 featuring a beginning canoeing program in the morning and an archery program in the afternoon. Both programs will begin at the Molly Stark picnic area. Beginning canoeing takes place from 9:30-11:30 a.m., and pre-registration is required. Participants learn canoeing basics and take a short trip on the water. Meet at the fishing pier.
Pickleball Club Gathers At Site
The newly formed Battle Lake Pickleball Club had a fund raising kick-off Tuesday, June 25.
