Elizabeth Board of Education Recognizes Colombian Independence Day and Gun Violence Awareness Month
ELIZABETH, NJ - The Elizabeth Board of Education recognized Colombian Independence Day and Gun Violence Awareness Month in its latest meeting Thursday. Colombian Independence Day is celebrated on July 20 and recognizes its achievement of independence from Spain in the year 1819. The United States recognized Colombia as an independent nation in 1822. Other resolutions include the approval of a purchase agreement with HP, Inc. for school desktop computers, the appointment of Driscoll Foods for processed food and produce items and the appointment of Sam Tell and Son for cafeteria equipment.
