New Jersey Civil Services Commission Announces Volunteer Firefighter Opportunities For All Local Municipalities

ELIZABETH, NJ - The application portal for volunteer firefighter positions has opened according to the New Jersey Civil Services Commission.

Opportunities are available throughout the state, including Elizabeth. The deadline to apply is September 3. The City of Elizabeth requires all applicants to be Elizabeth residents. All opportunities require proof of residency in New Jersey.

Additionally, all applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and must be at least 18 years of age, but not older than 35, and have a valid driver’s license.

Candidates may also be required to undergo a medical and psychiatric examination. More information can be found on the State of New Jersey website.
