(Note: Police released this information on July 24.) Franklin Township Police received a complaint of a male shooting a crossbow in a parking lot in the area of Jacques Lane. Officers responded to the area, contacted the involved party and advised him of the dangers of shooting a crossbow in that area. The male understood the concerns raised and left the scene voluntarily.

ELIZABETH, NJ - Elizabeth residents are encouraged to attend Elizabethport Presbyterian Center’s Block Party on Friday. The event will take place on Magnolia Avenue between First Street and Second Street from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Block Party features the grand opening of the Elizabethport Library and Museum, live entertainment, and activities for residents of all ages. Free hot dogs will be available for kids and there will be a $5 Fish Fry for adults.
