E-Town Pickleball @ The Warehouse sees strong growth in first six months

Pickleball has become extremely popular in the last decade in America, and there is good reason for that. It is easy to learn with few rules. If you can play tennis or ping-pong, you can play pickleball. It is a very inexpensive sport to play with minimal equipment, and it provides a wonderful way to burn calories in a low-impact way. Perhaps one of its most prominent features is that it can provide a fun, social way for friends and groups to connect.

The Warehouse is a membership-based indoor pickleball facility that opened on January 1 of this year. Owner Michele Zoerb brought pickleball to Elizabethton in 2021, originally launching a pickleball program for the Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department. The E-Town Pickleball Club grew to over 300 members while playing at the Parks and Recreation facilities. E-Town Pickleball at the Warehouse was opened to meet the need for additional year-round court facilities. The fully climate-controlled indoor facility offers the great outdoor surface of professional courts while playing without worrying about the elements of wind, sun, snow, and rain.

E-Town Pickleball at the Warehouse is located at 175 Hudson Drive in Elizabethton. It is open every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with open play each day from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The facility uses an app called CourtReserve, which allows for online court registration. There is block play for both intermediate and advanced players, with weekly mixer events. League play is also available and is tailored to all skill levels. Private and semi-private lessons are offered for players who desire to be more competitive, as well as clinics and drill sessions. For those who are beginners, a 2-hour-long class called Pickleball 101 provides an opportunity to learn basic shots, rules, and the format of the game.

“The community response has been tremendous, bringing pickleball players from all over the Tri-Cities. Most of the original club members play here on a regular basis and call each other friends. Many of the best players in the Tri-Cities play on our courts and represent E-Town Pickleball at professional pickleball tournaments,” Zoerb exclaimed.

With the growth E-Town Pickleball has experienced, Zoerb has her eyes on even more growth. “We want to focus on the player experience, and with that, we will expand our training and activity options. Players of all skill levels should be able to improve their game and enjoy organized games with other players of similar levels. Leagues, team events, and round-robin group play will be expanded on our schedule,” Zoerb added.
