Local crowd energy key to success for IronMAN Lake Placid winners Trevor Foley and Danielle Lewis
LAKE PLACID, N.Y. — The 25th edition of a summer tradition in Lake Placid brought several people to cheer on some of the best athletes in the world. The Lake Placid IronMAN featured fans flooded across Main Street cheering on triathletes as they traversed through the 140.6 course of swimming, biking and running. They motivated 2024 IronMAN Lake Placid champion Trevor Foley to pass the original course record set in the Olympic Village last year by Joe Skipper. The new course record that Foley set is a time of 7 hours, 55 minutes.
IronMAN Village keeping athletes and tourists recovered and refreshed in Lake Placid
LAKE PLACID, N.Y. — Lake Placid IronMAN is largely about race day, but the Olympic Village also brings a community feel through the shops and attractions in town. Within the week leading up to the over 140.6-mile triathlon is access to the IronMAN Village located inside the James Sheffield Speed Skating Oval on Main Street. The Village provides athletes with access to equipment repair and purchases, alongside food and beverages, to stay fresh and prepared.
