(FOX40.COM) — A beloved Elk Grove pizzeria is reopening under a new name months after closing its doors.

Pizza Bell shut down its Elk Grove Boulevard location on April 28 after operating there for 39 years.

The restaurant told customers it will reopen on Friday, July 5 as Patty’s Pizza Shack, named after a long-time Pizza Bell manager. The rebranded pizzeria will have a similar menu and same staff before Pizza Bell’s closure, the restaurant said in its announcement.

In their announcement, management said a good Samaritan helped save the pizzeria and thanked everyone who supported the restaurant over the years.

“This place is a landmark of Elk Grove,” the restaurant said. “Over almost 4 decades families have come to enjoy a good value family time. So please come support us again, this place has so many wonderful memories.”

A website for Patty’s Pizza Shack advertises the restaurant as “the best vegan pizza in Elk Grove” offering pizza, calzones, pizza and deli sandwiches, and salads. Along with dinner specials, the restaurant also offers gluten-free crust that comes in a medium size.
