Downtown Elk River has been gifted a giant chair and picnic tables by Plants and Things USA and Furniture And Things for use this summer.

Deana McLean, president of the Downtown Elk River Business Association and owner of Salon on Main and Eclectic Boutique, and fellow DERBA member Jennifer Wagner, who co-owns Edge Bar and Boutique, joined Steve Hickman of Plants and Things USA and Furniture and Things after the delivery for a photo to mark the collaboration between DERBA, Elk River Parks and Recreation, the City of Elk River’s Economic Development Authority and the furniture stores.

McLean called the donation a blessing for the 1-year-old green space off of Main Street where Elk River Meats once stood. “We are excited to have this big red chair always in our downtown and picnic tables to relax while discovering the charm shopping, eating, using all our downtown businesses,” McLean said.

The EDA was supportive of the land being used for picnicking while the long-term plans for the space and adjacent parking lot are being determined.
