Phillip Chrismon, Director of Transportation for Elkin City Schools, has been named the 2023-2024 Superintendent Award Winner. ECS Superintendent, Dr. Steve Hall, expressed immense pride in awarding this honor to Chrismon as a testament to his unwavering dedication in Elkin City Schools.

“Throughout his tenure, Phillip has exemplified the qualities of a true team player, consistently putting the needs of the students first. His commitment to fostering a supportive environment has left an indelible mark on the school community. Phillip is not only an encourager but also a connector, adept at building meaningful relationships with everyone he encounters. His genuine care and respect for others have created a positive ripple effect, enhancing collaboration across the school district” said Hall.

Serving students, staff, families, and the community of Elkin City Schools, Phillip is described as always going above and beyond by personally stepping in to drive buses or help transport students whenever the department is short-handed. His willingness to jump in at a moment’s notice demonstrates his dedication to the students and the community, ensuring that no child is left behind and that transportation needs are always met. This hands-on approach and his readiness to lead by example have earned him the respect and admiration from colleagues and parents alike.

Hall congratulated Chrismon for daily representing the district’s motto, “We Are Elkin” and said he is excited to see the continued contributions to the district's success in transportation in the upcoming school year.
