    OBITUARY: Mary Robinson Foreman Vuncannon

    Mary Robinson Foreman Vuncannon, 92, of Ellerbe, completed her earthly journey on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.

    Mrs. Vuncannon was born Dec. 29, 1931, the daughter of the late William Claude and Judi Ann Ewing Robinson.

    She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Ellerbe, as well as a charter member of Ellerbe Fellowship Baptist Church. She had sang in the choir at church since she was a teenager and also played piano and organ at church.

    She worked with Richmond County Bank and later retired from the ABC Board. She catered for many years with Jane Hogan at the Rockingham Speedway and other places, later she catered on her own. She enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening, the trips to the ocean and mountains and helping others.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, James Samuel “Pete” Foreman and Edward Everette Vuncannon Jr.; her daughter, Judith Ann Foreman; son, James Samuel Foreman II; and brothers, W.C. Robinson Jr., James Robinson, Clyde Robinson and Floyd Robinson.

    She is survived by her grandson, James Samuel Foreman III; daughter-in law, Susan Brown Foreman; stepchildren, Edward E. Vuncannon III (Patricia), Jeff L. Vuncannon (Jill); step-grandchildren, Lisa Quinn Shelley, Kimberley Boyles, Katie Norton, Luke Vuncannon and Jake Vuncannon; step-great-grandchildren, Kyra, Annaliese and Gracynn Shelley, Mackenzie Boyles, Tilley Mae Norton, Levi Vuncannon,Brenner Norton, ZebVuncannon, Evelyn Vuncannon, and Ila Vuncannon; step-great-great-grandchild, Cash McDonald; and many nieces and nephews.

    Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2024 at Ellerbe Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Monroe officiating. Interment will follow privately in Ellerbe Cemetery.

    The family will greet friends following the service at the church.
